Educators are known for repeating directions. Typically, we are glad to help our students back on to the path of learning. This year has been different in how we repeated directions, however. Oftentimes, the directions changed as local circumstances changed. As technologies changed, sometimes directions had to change. And sometimes we had to give directions to multiple audiences in multiple formats while exercising message discipline. Please share what improved or challenged communication. Welcome to Week 5 of the #8weeksofsummer Blog Challenge 2021.

When any aspect of in-person teaching occurs, communication defaults to in-person (Gurley, 2018). When students were removed from any in-person setting the challenges of communication escalate. Share some of the challenges and the high points of your classroom, colleague, or family communications.

Share the idea of blogging with your colleagues as a way to process the full year of multiple communication styles and types. Take the ideas of the friends in this challenge and hopefully build a future teaching repertoire prepared for multiple communication styles and types!
