An awesome idea is to follow-through on the prompt for the Jan 2017 #BlogaMonth:
Suggest one to two of your favorite videos (Ted Talks, YouTube Clips, Vimeos, Movie Clips…etc) that you have used in your school setting, and share how you used it.
Explain how incorporating this visual into your presentation or lesson has helped you to achieve your goals.
This was an uplifting activity for me to revisit the “greats” and has me fired up!

Sports are an easy translation for young people. Sports often offer a microcosm of life; sports is a space where young people see that precise effort can translate into progress. Especially our financially disadvantaged youth may never see effort pay off like this in their short lives outside of sports. For a portion of our Title I students, sports is a means to illuminating a path toward more.
Many of these clips center around a coach, someone who becomes a coach (Oh Moonlight Graham!), and therefore are very inspirational to teachers themselves. If you identify a group who is not turned off by the sports theme, these are all excellent clips.
I look forward to seeing what others are inspired by this month at #BlogaMonth!
