I have only recently opened an account with Smore. My interest is in providing professional development to district teachers via an inbox/email course for PLUs. My department could incorporate instructional technology topics and more traditional topics which could be offered through an opt in email list.
I see this as the gateway to other asynchronous professional learning opportunities. Some would be carried out via the district Learning Management System (LMS), other email courses, other utilizing Google Hangouts or a district hashtag on Twitter.
